Just setup my Google Apps for this here domain (http://briandewitt.org) and was going through the various Get Started guides they provide.
One of the guides is Google’s Successful Deployments for Small Businesses. It outlines a timeline and steps to take to successfully migrate your users over to the new Google Apps tools. Its a very helpful and informative guide providing timelines and example user communiques.
The example email to notify your users is a little too shall we say “managerial” in its wording:
Notification Message
Subject: Transitioning email service to the Google Apps collaborative platform [Suggested]
Hello [optional], [emphasis mine. ~Brian]
We wanted to notify everyone that we are in the process of transitioning our email hosting solution to Google Apps - as well as introducing a suite of other Google products to enable our business to better communicate, share, and collaborate.
Don’t worry, your email address won’t change, and you won’t lose your old messages! You can keep the exact same email address and we’re migrating all your messages so that you will have all mail in one central location…
Oh Google, you’re just a silly farm over there! :p
