If you’ve never been to a Jonathan Coulton show, there is no excuse for you to maintain that horrible win - loss record in 2012. With the tour dates scheduled so far for Two Thousand Twelve, The Bearded One is most likely playing in a town near you.
I am fortunate enough to have been backstage - because of someonethat has played shows with him - as well as in the audience for a few JoCo shows, I can tell you its not to be missed. Not only because of the music, the intimacy, the laughs and the tears. But also for the fans, their attire, that all of them know all the lyrics and the gifts they bring to bestow upon the bard of our nerd culture. And because Jonathan Coulton really is a Nice Guy™
Tickets go fast. As does the merch. As does the time.

Backspalsh Getting Tiled on Flickr.
I love that our good buddy Carmin Turco helped us tile this part of the kitchen wall. However, whenever I see this photo, I know it was hours before I got the worst call of my life.
So of course this would pop up in my last Photojojo time capsule of 2011. Stupid Photojojo, doing what its supposed to do. :(
One Macbook owner that broke the LCD monitor of the Macbook created a slyMac. Or a hackiMac (pronounced hak-ee-mak).

If it accommodates APC battery backups, I certainly want three.
It not, I guess I’ll have to keep using twist, zip and hook&loop ties.
Shoot. I wish I would have posted this sooner for everyone that overdid it last night :)
Amazon seems to have the entire Long Winters discography on sale right now for under $20 bucks.
That’s a fuckin’ steal
Whuh? Hooooooly crap. If that’s not an egregious error, JUMP IN. go.
(not familiar with his work)
And to add to that, the new JoCo album Artificial Heart, with the song Nemeses - on which, our intrepid RotL co-hero contributes his talents - is also priced below US $5 in the Amazon MP3 webbystore site!

At the current gig, I am researching the best shopping cart / ecommerce solution. This entails lots of documentation and forum reading - not every one’s cuppa, but not the worst thing. It also allows me to come across some great-looking ecommerce websites. But none have grabbed me like Creative Recreation site.
It is a clean, uncluttered design that reminds me of James Perse (only the best feeling t-shirts, polos and bedding ever). But the design also has three things I love and that I think create a connection:
The site steps back a few paces from what should really be the focus; the shoes. No feeling that the screen has just assaulted you with tons of info with no clear separation (yes I am complaining about you, Piperlime). Just a clear view of some great items. This certainly facilitates the exchange of credit card info for cool stuff - the main goal of any ecommerce site.
