Always Great to Read Cory
Cory Doctorow is an amazing author, columnist and all around tech-guru/watchdog. I always enjoy reading what he writes and especially if its about DRM and locked-down tech. When i found his latest column for Information Week’s website i read it. Twice. Go read “The Solution to Mobile Phone Deadlock? Somebody Has to Die” now please. :)
A Mini Opera on My BlackBerry Curve
I’ve had my BlackBerry Curve (the 8300 model through AT&T) for a little over 3 months. Despite billing problems (AT&T does not seem to know what i mean by “i want unlimited text messaging added to my plan kthxggno-re uninstall”) the phone has been great to me. Able to go almost hours (or days but those are rare Tibetan Zen masters that i have yet to see “in the wild”)...
Ken Lombard at DMFW
Ken Lombard, the President of Starbucks Entertainment is being interviewed by Celia Hirschman, the host of KCRW’s On the Beat. She is asking questions she has as well as questions from the Mozes satellite. I posed the question how does t-mobile, starbucks’ wi-fi provider at their physical stores, feel about the now indirect partnership t-mobile has with AT&T because of the iTunes...
DMFW Update
I am at the Digital Music Forum West to try to start dialogs with imeem, MySpace and maybe with the Zune team from Microsoft. One thing i’ve noticed is that there is some innovation in thinking here. Too bad all the big labels are deaf. Its good that some people realize that P2P file sharing is just the same thing as TCP. You take away P2P and you might as well take away what makes the...
